Taking advantage of the liberalization and de-regulation of the European rail market ERS Railways was established with an own fleet of locomotives and wagons. ERS Railways holds since 2001 a Dutch Railway license (renewed in 2005) issued by IVW as well as an EU-License authorizing ERS Railways to access tracks in all EU-countries.
In October 2002 ERS Railways operated its first shuttle as a rail traction provider between Rotterdam and Germersheim in Germany. Since then the business of ERS Railways has expanded and we are today operating around 90 weekly trains between Rotterdam and Belgium / Germany / Italy / Czech Republic / Poland for ERS, who is arranging the container transports for its shareholders and for third party customers.
Today the trains are all running with a high quality, which through daily surveillance and control made by our offices in Frankfurt and Rotterdam continuously is improved and developed, as it is important for ERS Railways to offer its customers a reliable service together with a high quality.
In 2006 ERS Railways produced more than 1.7 billion ton kilometers only in Germany and Holland. The development will continue in 2007 as we together with our customers continuously will develop our network with new destinations and products.
The locomotives used for the traffic is operated and manned by own production staff, which assures a high flexibility.
Today ERS Railways has 72 employees of which 38 are locomotive drivers that are located in the Rotterdam office, while 9 employees are connected to the Operational office in Frankfurt.
